FORNEY, TX—On Friday, June 16, 2017 at 9:18 p. m., Forney police responded to reports of a disturbance at Forney Community Park, located at 241 S. FM 548, for a reported fight in progress involving a large number of people. While officers were en route to the call, dispatchers received a report that gunshots were being fired at the park.
Officers arrived on scene and began to investigate the incident. Detectives from Forney CID responded and interviewed multiple witnesses. The investigation determined that a fist fight started between two groups over an unknown issue and that one suspect had discharged his pistol claiming it was a warning shot. A firearm was found and seized at the scene.
