Last week I got a phone call from my preacher, Pat Morris (who is also an elder) from Valley Creek Church of Christ, asking if I had a trailer hitch on my van. As you can probably guess, that question usually leads to work of some kind, especially when it comes from a preacher. As it turned out, this was exactly one of those times. He told me that another of our elders, Ron Burch, found out there was a huge office building full of furniture that was about to be gutted.
The offer was made for the church to get any furniture we wanted out of the building before demolition began this week. So the three of us donned hard hats and safety vests and gathered up all of the office furniture we could in the short amount of time my two friends had to spend.
