So now us taxpayers are going to pay for at least one special session!

Texas taxpayers are now in for it. On Tuesday, Gov. Greg Abbott, under pressure from Attorney General Dan Patrick and other highly conservative elements of the Texas GOP, has called a special session of the Texas legislature to begin July 18. And we are going to have pay for it to the tune of between roughly $700,000.00 and $800,000.00.
Although special sessions of the Texas Legislature have been called in the past by other governors, this one is especially distasteful to me because, as Gov. Abbott himself admits, it could have been avoided.
