Lori and I moved to Forney almost four decades ago and we have certainly seen a lot of change over the years. In our first years here we were truly a bedroom community. With a few exceptions you had to go to Mesquite if you needed anything. However, one of my favorite stores in town was the Western Auto, which was downtown in the building that now houses the Spellman Museum. Every time I walked in I was greeted with a genuinely friendly “Hello” by owner Weldon Adams and his son Terry.
Although it was small they almost always seemed to have what you needed and if they didn’t, they could usually find it and have it delivered to the store. Often the same day.
