There are very special times in our lives that we love to relive in our heads, to leave the present and go to our own personal “Happy Place”. I have been blessed to have so many of these. This week I want to share one of my favorites. As it turned out, this one was sandwiched between two very traumatic events in our lives, but for our family it still stands out as a magical time. Lori’s dad had died recently and we decided a distraction for her sweet mom would be just what the doctor ordered.
It was Spring Break in 2003. A couple of months later our oldest son TJ would graduate from high school. Beyond that he would go off to college and our close little family would not be the same. So we decided to create a memory none of us would forget. We planned a trip to Europe to two places I had always wanted to go: Venice and Ireland.
