Forney city officials cut ribbon on Gateway Bridge Saturday

In the first of two history- making ceremonies Saturday morning, Apr. 1, city, county and other officials cut a ribbon marking the completion and dedication of the Gateway Bridge and Gateway Blvd. project, which offers a new travel access to motorists going north and south between Forney and Terrell just this side of Windmill Farms.

The road and bridge project was begun in 2012 as a $52 million private-public partnership between Hunt Properties and Kaufman County. The bridge has carried traffic since it was opened in 2014. Gateway Blvd. was completed about 4 weeks ago.
