If you tried, it would feel as if it were getting heavier rather quickly. Holding a cup filled with water is a cinch.

I had a dream about him last night. It has been nearly three decades since he died, but there he was. Alive. We met in some kind of diner. A breakfast joint. Maybe this was heaven? He was running late, I was already sitting in a booth, sipping coffee.

F. H. P. L. Meets with Light Agenda

The Forney Historic Preservation League met recently to cover light agenda items and to plan for the future and was called to order by President, Debbie Stuart. Charles Beason gave the invocation, followed by Secretary Jana Garner’s report of minutes (approved unanimously) from the previous meeting.

May is Picking Time

The amazing month of May continues to wow and produce hoped-for results. The blackberry vines in our woods have already produced a bountiful crop so far, and the promise of more to ripen is evident when you lift the branches and look below them.

Kaufman County Recognized as Gold Star Affiliate by Keep Texas Beautiful

Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB), a statewide grassroots environmental and community improvement non-profit organization, was recently named Kaufman County a Gold Star Affiliate. Gold Star recognition is the membership recognition highest status any community affiliate can achieve.
