The power of a good story never gets old. When Forney Education Foundation Board members have the opportunity to interact with new people about FEF and its mission, the results are nearly always the same. There is an almost euphoric feeling when the listener spontaneously donates to the Forney Education Foundation after just a short story from a Board member.

The story of what FEF does, who FEF helps, and why FEF raises money to continue the mission started more than 20 years ago is compelling. When George Brown approached the other 5 founders with his idea to really help graduating seniors monetarily, they all agreed it was a muchneeded resource. And now that Forney Education Foundation has established itself with an executive director and standing committees, more wonderful things have been added to what FEF can do for current students in Forney ISD.

One of the first updates that FEF did for students was the addition of teacher- requested grants. Many of these grants have an immediate impact because of what they are while some need the timeline of a school year to develop for the students impacted by the grant. Since the launch of the teacher-requested grants in 2008 and with the addition of the Adopt-A- Grant Program in September of 2019, the Foundation with its community partners has funded over $1,000,000 to the grant program. Understanding that there are three categories of students graduating--college ready, earn-and-learn, and career ready--FEF really looks at how it can help ALL students in Forney ISD to be the best version of themselves. Anyone and everyone has the opportunity to donate to Forney Education Foundation and become a part of a student’s future.
