On Wednesday, November 12, 26 pallets of food were delivered to Sharing Life (3795 W. Emporium Circle, Mesquite) to be shared among 12 local food pantries.
These organizations collectively serve more than 34,000 individuals monthly and will come to Sharing Life to receive their goods. This large food donation comes from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints as they support the effort to alleviate hunger and spread kindness throughout the world.
This donation was planned to support World Kindness Day on November 13 as the Thanks-Giving Foundation unites the Dallas area for World Kindness Week. The initiative is designed to make kindness visible, actionable, and unforgettable with a public festival in the Dallas Arts District on November 15 and New York Times columnist keynote speaker David Brooks delivering remarks at Temple Emanu-El on Novemb e r 13 at 7 : 3 0 p . m . Dallas Independent School District is participating and over 1 million stickers will circulate the DFW area that week to create a wave of kindness.
