When Israel was split into two nations, they elected a king and when he died, they would elect another king. One king would be evil and lead the nation away from GOD and into sin against Him. The king would lead the nation to build idols all over the land and worship them like they were real gods. Then a good king would be elected and he would tear down all the idols and turn the nation back to GOD. I cannot see why one king would be evil and one would be righteous before GOD. The does not seem to be any pattern to cause that. I can only think that one king was the “good ground” Jesus spoke about in His parable about the man sowing seed, and another king was the bad one. This record tells us how important a leader is.
