FHS Softball Girls make short work of McKinney North’s Play-off Hopes! 2nd Game, 4th Inning proves decisive!
Visiting team, Forney Jackrabbits, vs. Home team, McKinney North Bulldogs, 7:00 p. m. at Wylie East softball field on 5/17/19, and it was a fairly breezy evening—sunny, clear, warmnot wet and cold like the previous play-off game we attended. And this one began exactly at the scheduled time and place with a rousing rendition of our National Anthem. It even appeared that an EAGLE was flying over the field, but it was another larger bird that looked good up in the sky!
In front of us sat Blake and Marcie Sanders, parents of Kyler, and the Duckworths—Lloyd, Mark, and Kay. A little farther ahead was Joy Weatherford, and over to the right, I picked out Trent Brown. In the distance, I could just make out Neal Weaver, Athletic Director for FISD.
In the top of the 1st Inning, the Rabbits took the lead, 2—0, as a Holdbrook walk/DesRochers infield single, and mighty Hewitt single to left field, scored the two baserunners, and the final one showed off what I call a “hook slide.” By any names, the running skills of those on the paths was awesome!
