The North Forney Falcons won last Friday night against Woodrow Wilson High School, 41 to 20. Head Coach Eric Luster said, “We love the win, but we still have not played our best game yet. There are still things we need to clean up.” As a matter of fact, most of the coaches felt like there is more in the tank for every aspect of our game.

The Pirates loaded the buses for a second straight week headed to Melissa. Cardinal Stadium would be the setting for the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Go Route Game of the Week. This matchup would set up who would be at the top of the 5A-2 District 7 football standings. Melissa is the first of a few very formidable teams the Pirates will play in this tough district.

The Forney Jackrabbits made the short trip to Mesquite Memorial Stadium for their Week 4 Matchup against the West Mesquite Wranglers last week. West Mesquite was celebrating their homecoming and entered the game on a three game winning streak, thanks in part to their potent Offense. The Jackrabbits entered the game after demolishing Mesquite Poteet the previous week.

Crandall Wins Close One Over Jacksonville

By Patrick Luecke Photos by Jason Bowie The Pirates packed up the buses for the first road trip of the season. They were headed to the famous Tomato Bowl, in Jacksonville, for a matchup with the 0-2 Fightin’ Indians. Crandall came in with a 2-0 record and a confident team that controlled Kaufman last week in convincing fashion. Jacksonville won the toss, deferring to the second half, giving Crandall the ball to start the game. Senior Luke Moffitt and Junior wideout Joshua Smith are a great one-two punch that would be used a lot against the Indians. On the second play of the drive Moffitt connected with Smith for a 36-yard gain, putting the Pirates deep in Indian territory. Three plays later Moffitt would hit 6’4” Smith in the back of the endzone for the touchdown. It took Crandall 78 seconds to put the first points on the board.

SOUTHSIDE SLAUGHTER: Forney Pounds Poteet 59-0

By Adam Wardlaw Photos by Eddy Taylor The Forney Jackrabbits hosted the Poteet Pirates for their first home game of the year last Friday night at the nearly sold-out City Bank Stadium. The traditionally stout Poteet Pirates came into the game 0-2. The Pirate Offense looked discombobulated the entire evening, while the Jackrabbit Offense was able to score however they wanted during the contest. The Jackrabbit Defense returned to their dominant ways of old.
